Annabelle left a pair of shoes outside her bedroom in hopes that Saint Nicholas would come to visit during the night. If the children have been good, he fills the shoe with delicious holiday edibles. If they have not been good, their shoes are filled with twigs. The stockings were indeed filled. Madeleine is still too young to partake in this tradition but St. Nicholas left a goodies in her stocking also. Saint Nicholas came to visit me every December 6th growing up and I am glad that he visits the Richter girls now too.
